Summer Holidays

I usually take advantage of the summer holidays to be at home and rest (zzz), run at the time I like the most and not at the time that "I can" (depending on what I feel like) and organize activities with my friends without pressure of having to study or prepare something for university... The last summer holidays pre-pandemic I had were in Huasco (the city where I live when I'm not studying in Santiago), actually they were summer "semi-vacation", because Uchile= classes until February (due to strikes that always happen during academic year), so traveling to Santiago (10 hours one way and 10 hours back) was part of the panorama several times during January (Yes, I'm the kind of person who prefer to travel than stay dying of heat there in Santiago). Anyway the time I was in Huasco I took the opportunity to attend African dance classes on the beach somedays at week, with some women of different ages (something totally new for me and one that I enjoyed a lot). GPOY

The following is the context: we had barely a few weeks of first year university classes, and with my friends (who I met at "U") we decided to ask for a room to study for our first test. It turns out that it was quite a ceremony, because you had to sign up and there was not much availability of rooms at that time for the day we needed it, so when we managed to get time in one of the large rooms (because we were like 7 people) we were very happy. It is assumed that in these rooms the idea is to study with a prudent "volume", but we are very talkative people, so we dedicate 1% to studying and 99% to laugh and take photos. I have this photo lovingly stored on my cell phone, because it reminds me about that first month at university and how much fun we had that day. In the photo it is not possible to appreciate, but that was almost the only moment in which we managed to concentrate. We made so much noise that they even went to scold us and ask us “not to be so loud” (of...

Postgraduate studies

Imagen
This topic made me think that mmm I have never really thought about postgraduate studies in my area, I did not even know what options existed (yes I had an introducing classes about this, but I didnt take it seriously), so I started to investigate, and after looking for the possibilities, I found one that caught my attention, a master's degree in cosmetics international! I really like trying and learning about new cosmetic products in general (especially those that are for dry hair, because I have always had it very damaged and delicate), and at the same time I also like to use products that are cruelty-free, so finding a master's degree that reconciles both points and that is related with my career would be ideal.. I would love to do the master's degree for a year or two in another country, one that is advanced in the field of cosmetic research, and incidentally, take the opportunity to discovering and knowing new places. I think that the language is always an issue to tak...

My future job!

Imagen
In the future I would like to work somewhere with few people (not independent), I like the idea of being paid a salary because I am quite messy, but I am not very good at dealing different personalities, especially the conflictive type. I would love to work outdoors, but so far I do not know an area of my career that develops that way, oh by the way, I am studying chemistry and pharmacy, so realistically I would like to work in some quiet job in some hospital or pharmacy local from the area where I live (a small city with a sacrifice zone, oh yeyy, anyway at least still quiet), I don't like a hectic life very much (just a few hours). I would love to travel to all possible places, I would love to visit every rural corner that I can, or big cities, but I repeat, being realistic I feel that I will travel more thanks to my work, than for my work. I would like to specialize in hospital pharmacy, but beware, the most administrative part of the pharmaceutical area in the hospital, no ...

A food I really like

Imagen
One food that I really like is oatmeal cookies, I adore when they are fresh out of the oven and the whole house smells of spices and sweet, seriously who could not like something like that, just a psychopath (my dad hates those smells haha , but loves to eat them). I make them by placing oats, walnuts, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, sugar and an egg in a deep bowl, stir everything and place it directly in the oven mold. After 10-15 min on high heat ... voila! The best cookies in the world! I love to eat them with a giant bowl of boiling chocolate, at any time of the day, almost every day of the week, I am very vicious with food! What I like the most is that those flavors and smells bring back memories of when I was little and my mom would cook us cakes, cookies and a million different desserts every weekend. Personally, I think it is a healthy, delicious and good option for my health, very nutritious, and even if it was not, it is always healthy for the mind to eat something delicio...

The Cringe

I am sure that throughtout my life I have lived many shameful moments, but at the moment it is difficult for me to remember any, probably because I blocked many of these memories from my head. But here goes one of them... When I was in seventh grade (about 12 years old), one day a friend had a pool party at her house. She was very popular, and invited a lot of people from the college to the meeting, even people from older classes. Among all the people was the boy I liked so I was very nervous from the beginning. It turns out that when it was time to jump into the pool, I was one of the first, I wanted to look cool, but I jumped so hard that I hit my teeth with the bottom of the pool and I hurt my lips. I quickly surfaced to breathe and in that I see many people looking towards the pool (perhaps my mind exaggerated the situation) and one of my friends says something to me like "the bikini" and I said "ah?", I was so stunned that I did not understan anything. Until a ...

The best Holidays ever!

Imagen
The best holidays I have had were in Brazil, specifically to Salvador de Bahía- Porto Seguro. I went in 2010 for a week with my lifelong friends. First we had to travel to Santiago because our flight left from there to Rio de Janeiro and then to Salvador de Bahía. Upon arrival the Resort was huge and beautiful, it had three giant pools and it was almost a miniature city, in fact we got lost a couple of time at the beginning. Every night there were different shows full of dance, music and food, it was a lot of fun!  One of the days we took a tour of the  nearby beaches I got a Henna tatto, which was a disaster haha. Another day we went to visit the city a and I tried the raw cocoa straight from the tree (Spoiler: I didn't like it). We also went to a giant water park, it was very entertaining! Another day we went on a boat to a party that had aquariums and three music-dance enviroments (Brazilians are very funny). We also went snorkelling (photo below). The last night we went to...
